My response to Mt:23=27. What struck me about MATTHEW 8:23-27 is that Jesus was asleep. How? Here are professional fishermen frightened for their lives and here is Jesus unmoved when surrounded by danger, confusion nd hopelessness. When he does awake, he calms the sea and rebukes the disciples for their lack of faith. If you take the passage literally, it communicates a powerful, supernatural Jesus, unconstrained even by the forces of nature. Taken metaphorically, the passage conveys a peace and tranquility from being armed with the truth. The implication is that the truth protects you when life gets stormy… The truth of the resurrection… The truth of Christ’s message of kingdom and salvation. For me, that truth is worth finding
